Efficiency in National and International Integration
RIP is a company that has been operating in the Brazilian market since 1986, providing complementary services in civil construction and executing major projects for prominent clients since its inception. It supplies specialized labor and materials for coating installations, thermal insulation, industrial painting, among other areas, now including offshore services—services conducted from the maritime coast of a specific location—which began last year.
Due to the nature of its sector and the profile of its projects, RIP's business is characterized by high dynamism. At any given time, projects of varying scales are being assembled and dismantled according to client demands. With approximately 7,500 employees today, the size and configuration of RIP's communication and IT network undergo frequent changes. The constant mobilization and demobilization of employees and infrastructure, integral to RIP's operational logistics, demand highly sophisticated and well-managed networks.
As RIP's partner, Harbor IT works to ensure optimal conditions for the company's networks, which currently support approximately 850 users. Hundreds of employees are connected daily across all locations where the company operates—its headquarters in Indaiatuba, nine branch offices, and various ongoing projects. In addition to accommodating the significant fluctuation and turnover of network users, RIP's presence in remote areas adds further complexity to its IT operations. In some regions far from major urban centers, finding quality links and providers is challenging. This necessitates that the network provided by Harbor be exceptionally robust to mitigate issues in these areas and ensure excellence and efficiency in the company's computational environments and its integration and communication solutions.
And the challenges for the company's IT department don't stop there. In 2014, the German company Kaefer completed its acquisition of RIP. Since then, numerous projects have been undertaken to establish increasingly seamless interconnection between networks in Brazil and Germany. Following the merger of RIP and Kaefer, the companies have been working on integrating processes, standards, policies, and, most importantly, services. For this, effective communication and efficient data flow between the networks of both countries are essential.
In collaboration with the company's internal IT team, currently composed of 15 members, Harbor IT provides and maintains a network infrastructure that enables RIP to achieve its ambitious goals.
